British Values

In Great Britain, we are very lucky to be able to live our lives under a set of values known as 'British Values'.  These four values enable us to live a safe and free life, where we are able to make our own decisions.  Many countries do not have these and their lives are often difficult.  Our four values are:

  • Democracy
  • Rule of Law
  • Individual liberty
  • Mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and those without faith.

Without these values, we would live in a society where we had no freedom of speech; we would not be able to make our own choices; would not be able to have our own religious beliefs and would be assumed guilty of wrongdoing before the facts were considered.
